Comey Prepared To Board The Jet

Former FBI Director James Comey couldn’t believe his ears when he first found out that he was fired from his position on Tuesday afternoon. He hoped it was just a prank.

According to the New York Times, Comey was having a discussion with a group of FBI agents in Los Angeles when he saw on the news that he was pulled from his position. Apparently, he even laughed at the news, but shortly some colleagues asked him to go to another room.

At that moment, the FBI headquarters received a letter from President Donald Trump himself. It was written, “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.”

“It is essential that we find new leadership for the F.B.I. that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.”

ABC News was told by some FBI officials that Comey was finally read the firing letter over a phone conversation.

GOP Rep. Carlos Curbelo tweeted to show that he couldn’t believe how Comey was fired. He wrote, “No one should find out via the television that they’ve been fired. If true, that’s poor form and plain unprofessional. #Comey.”

Instantly after Comey was fired, deputy director Andrew McCabe was made the acting head of the FBI. Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein and Attorney General Jeff Sessions apparently suggested Trump to fire Comey.

Regarding of the Hilary Clinton’s private email server, Comey said in July that the bureau “did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information,’ but that they had been ‘extremely careless.”

Rosenstein wrote in a letter published by the White House, “I cannot defend the director’s handling of the conclusion of the investigation of Secretary Clinton’s emails, and I do not understand his refusal to accept the nearly universal judgment that he was mistaken.”
